Background

I got into this 15+ years ago building WordPress sites and writing PHP. Over time I got more interested in what was happening on the server side — why things broke, how they got compromised, what could be done about it.

That led me into server hardening, WAF deployment, and eventually fraud detection for payment systems. I've worked on a lot of different setups over the years, from shared hosting to dedicated clusters.

These days I do a mix of security work and development. I like solving problems that sit at the intersection of both — making things work well and making sure they stay safe.

My Approach

I start by understanding what you actually have, then figure out what needs fixing first. I don't sell you stuff you don't need. If your server's fine, I'll tell you it's fine. If it's not, I'll fix it and show you what I did.

AI Security & Prompt Engineering

Working with LLMs and AI tools in security contexts. Prompt engineering, building AI-assisted automation, and defending against prompt injection attacks.

2020 — 2024

Fraud & Risk Management Lead

Built fraud detection and risk scoring for payment platforms. Transaction monitoring, automated flagging, chargeback reduction. Hands-on with real payment data and real fraud patterns.

2018 — 2020

WAF & Security Architecture

Focused on WAF deployment, custom ModSecurity rules, and DDoS mitigation. Set up security monitoring and incident response workflows for multiple clients.

2015 — 2018

Server Administration & Performance

Managed Linux servers for high-traffic sites. Hardening, performance tuning, caching setups, and keeping things online during traffic spikes.

2010 — 2015

Full-Stack PHP & WordPress Development

Started here. WordPress themes, plugins, custom PHP apps. Learned the stack inside out — built everything from simple business sites to full e-commerce setups.
